Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

So I've been out of school for a while, so I've had time to work on costumes... and we even did an AlicexOz photoshoot.  It's just that I've been so possessed by the sewing machine it's not even funny... or it kinda is... to other people. XD; (Just look at my "to debut" list... Yeah, a lot of sewing has been done in the past week.)  So that's probably why I have a LOT of messages in my inbox... and A LOT of people I haven't thanked yet for watching me.  So if you watched me and I haven't thanked you yet... Thank you!

And Phoenix Comicon is coming up!  I'm suuuper excited!  I totally need a con to unleash all the stress that built up in me during school. @_@  *BanzaiProductions is doing a panel and skit this year!  I'm so excited!  For more info, just look at the group DA page's journal... it's almost midnight and I'm too lazy to make a few clicks to link it. XD

Here's my line-up for PCC:

Thursday: Naughty School-boy Len.  Oh ho ho ho ho, I'm more excited for this than I should be. XD  The kind of character I'm going for is one you'd see in his SPICE! song except minus the other women--I'm only going to be persistent with Rin (I have to practice my pick-up lines ;D) and be rebellious with Luka-sensei... maybe I'll tease school-girl Miku along with that. XD

Friday: Edward Elric.  I've actually been wanting to cosplay him since I first saw FMA Brotherhood... and I finally am. :3  This is actually for Vic Mignogna who is coming to PCC.

I have every intention on sitting in the front row of one of his panels sitting very Ed-like to see if he says anything. XD

Saturday: Green Link. Zelda cosplay group dream? Well, it's come true.

I'm hoping we can run around the con in formations. XD
